Arkansas closed out the NCAA West First Rounds on Saturday the same way it handled most of the season: by sending a small army of qualifiers to the national meet.
The seventh‑ranked Razorbacks picked up nine more entries on the final day at John McDonnell Field, pushing eight athletes through in six events and reinforcing why this group expects to be in the title conversation every June.
The headline belonged to Sanu Jallow‑Lockhart, who ran one of the fastest 800s in collegiate history. Her 1:57.74 missed the NCAA record by one hundredth of a second and wiped out the facility record by more than three seconds. It also moved her to No. 4 in the world this year. That’s the kind of performance that changes the tone of a meet.
She wasn’t done. Jallow‑Lockhart came back to anchor the 4×400 relay in 49.58, closing out a 3:21.83 that broke another facility record and landed as the No. 3 time in collegiate history. Sanaria Butler (51.31), Analisse Batista (51.06), and Kaylyn Brown (49.88) handled the first three legs before a lightning delay paused the meet for half an hour. When the times settled, Arkansas still sat comfortably ahead of the field.

That relay mark was the fifth facility record Arkansas has broken this season. Baylor, Texas A&M, LSU, Auburn, and now home turf. It’s become routine at this point.
Jallow‑Lockhart will have company in the 800 in Eugene. Batista won her section in 2:00.68, finishing just behind Stanford’s Juliette Whittaker on the overall list. Arkansas will send two legitimate scoring threats in the event.
Brown added another highlight with a 49.77 in the 400, the fastest time of the day and another facility record. Butler joined her in advancing with a 50.49. The Sharpe sisters, Amirah (52.06) and Arianna (52.47), didn’t move on but kept Arkansas well‑represented in the quarterfinals.

Gabriella Cunning punched her ticket in the 100 hurdles with a career‑best 13.02, continuing her steady climb this spring. In the high jump, Maria Arboleda cleared 6‑1.5 to tie for fifth and move to No. 3 on Arkansas’ all‑time list. Taejha Badal wrapped up her season with a 23.40 in the 200.
By the end of the weekend, Arkansas had stacked qualifiers across sprints, mid‑distance, hurdles, relays, and jumps. That balance is why the Razorbacks keep showing up at the top of national lists and why they’ll head to Eugene with a real chance to score in bunches.
