Arkansas did exactly what it needed to do in stroke play, and the Razorbacks are moving on because of it. A 1‑over finish through four rounds put them in a tie for third at the NCAA Championship and safely into the match play bracket.

That alone marks a step forward. Before this year, Arkansas had never finished higher than fourth at the championship and had never posted a stroke‑play total better than 6‑over. This group cleared both marks and looked steady doing it.

Now comes the part that has always been the hurdle. The Hogs will face 6‑seed Oklahoma State in Tuesday morning’s quarterfinals, with the winner advancing to meet either 2‑seed USC or 7‑seed Duke in the afternoon semifinals.

Arkansas has reached match play three times since the format arrived in 2015, but the program is still searching for its first win. The last two trips ended in tight 3‑2 losses, first to Wake Forest in 2019 and then to Northwestern in 2025.

Golf Channel will have coverage starting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, and Arkansas will try once again to break through.
