The University of Arkansas has selected its 2026 Sports Hall of Honor class and the eight-member group spans four decades of program history.
Former letterwinners who belong to the A Club cast the votes that decided the honorees this year.
Basketball guard Ronnie Brewer tops the list after leading the Hogs back to the NCAA Tournament in 2006 and snapping a five-year absence from the field.
Over his three seasons in Fayetteville he averaged 15.7 points 5.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists a game and picked up All-American status plus two First-Team All-SEC selections. Utah drafted him 14th overall in 2006 and he went on to play a decade in the league.
His father Ron Brewer Sr. entered the Hall of Honor in 1993 so the family now shares the distinction.
Two football stars from the same era
Tony Bua and Jason Peters both wore the Cardinal and White during the early 2000s and left lasting marks on the football program.
Bua set the school’s career tackle mark with 408 stops in his final season during 2003 breaking a record that had belonged to Ken Hamlin.
His total now ranks second in program history trailing only Bumper Pool. Miami selected Bua in the fifth round of the 2004 draft and he later spent stints on practice squads in Dallas and Cincinnati.
Peters came to campus as a defensive lineman before coach Houston Nutt switched him to tight end.
In 2003 he hauled in 21 catches for 218 yards and four touchdowns which landed him on the Second-Team All-SEC list. Buffalo added him as an undrafted free agent in 2004 and he built a 21-year NFL career that included seven Pro Bowl trips and a Super Bowl championship in Philadelphia.
Peters hung up his cleats in 2025 and earned a spot on the league’s 2010s All-Decade team.
Diamond and course legends join class
Brett Eibner spent three seasons as a two-way player for Razorback baseball between 2008 and 2010 and once launched three home runs in a single NCAA Tournament game against Grambling State.
His 42 career homers rank third in school history. On the softball side Heather Schlichtman Scharf still holds the program’s career strikeout record at 886 with a 1.59 ERA across her four years from 2001 to 2004.
Golfer Bud Still claimed the individual SEC championship in 1995 and helped the team capture its own conference title that year after being named SEC Golfer of the Year in 1994.
Pole vaulter Tina Sutej won back-to-back NCAA indoor titles during her time in Fayetteville and later competed for Slovenia across four Olympic Games while earning a medal at the 2025 World Championships.
A trainer remembered for decades of service
Dave England spent close to 40 years working in Razorback athletics and became head athletic trainer for the men’s basketball program in 1989.
He traveled with the team to three Final Four appearances including the 1994 national championship run before stepping away in 2021. England will receive his honor posthumously alongside this year’s class.
Arkansas will hold the induction ceremony on Friday Sept. 25 at the Walton Arts Center.
The banquet falls one night before Razorback football hosts Tulsa at home and the honorees are expected to get a shoutout during that Saturday game as well.
