FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — If there’s any doubt the SEC isn’t the best in college baseball, just look at where the NCAA Regional locations will be held.
The league matched its own record by being awarded eight of the 16 regional host sites for the 2025 NCAA Division I Baseball Championship.
Baum-Walker Stadium will be one of those teams hosting a regional again. Arkansas has hosted one 34 times. This will be the third straight year they’ve hosted a regional.
The Razorbacks were 32-4 at home during the regular season.
The Hogs lead college baseball in home wins this year and its .889 home win percentage is tied with Coastal Carolina (24-3) for the best among teams that are hosting a regional.
The regional locations were announced by the NCAA Division I Baseball Committee on Sunday.
The SEC’s eight regional hosts for 2025 are Arkansas (43-13), Auburn (38-18), Georgia (42-15), LSU (43-14), Ole Miss (40-19), Tennessee (43-16), Texas (42-12), and Vanderbilt (42-16).
This ties the record set by the conference just last year, further illustrating the SEC’s dominance in the sport.
“The SEC has been the conference to beat this entire season,” noted the NCAA’s official announcement, underscoring the league’s competitive edge.
Vanderbilt, which clinched the SEC tournament title with a 3-2 win over Ole Miss, is widely considered a top contender for the overall No. 1 seed, thanks to its performance and high RPI ranking.
While the SEC’s presence is overwhelming, the remaining eight regional sites reflect the strength and diversity of college baseball across the country.
The ACC will be represented by Clemson (44-16), Florida State (38-14), and North Carolina (42-12). The Big Ten, newly expanded, sees Oregon (42-14) and UCLA (42-16) as hosts.
Sun Belt Conference powers Coastal Carolina (48-11) and Southern Mississippi (44-14), along with independent Oregon State (41-12-1), round out the list.
Florida State stands out as it hosts a regional for the 37th time, the most by any school.
UCLA returns as a host for the first time since 2019, and Oregon and Southern Mississippi are hosting for the fourth time in program history.
Each of the 16 regional sites will feature four teams competing in a double-elimination format, starting Friday, May 30, and running through Monday, June 2, if necessary.
The winners of each regional will advance to the super regionals, which are scheduled for June 6-9.
The eight super regional champions will then move on to the Men’s College World Series (MCWS), which begins June 13 at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska, and concludes with a best-of-three championship series on June 22 or 23.
The full 64-team field, including the 29 automatic qualifiers and 35 at-large selections, will be revealed during the NCAA selection show at 11 a.m. on Monday live on ESPN2.
The NCAA’s announcement drew immediate attention across college baseball.
“By being awarded a regional, all 16 host institutions have also been selected to the 64-team championship field,” the NCAA said.
Florida State’s long-standing tradition as a host was also highlighted.
The 2025 NCAA baseball tournament promises intense competition as teams vie for a coveted spot in Omaha.
The SEC’s record-tying eight hosts set the stage for what could be another year of conference dominance at the College World Series.
Yet, with strong contenders from the ACC, Big Ten, Sun Belt, and beyond, the path to the national title remains as unpredictable as ever.
