Arkansas-South Carolina kickoff time set for night in Fayetteville

Arkansas’ kickoff time against South Carolina is official and it’s going to be a night game.

The Razorbacks and the No. 23 Gamecocks meet on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 6:45 p.m. in Fayetteville. It will be broadcast on SEC Network.

The Hogs could use a good night. They’re 3-5 on the year and 1-4 against SEC teams. Arkansas has beaten North Alabama, Tulsa and Vanderbilt. That’s the whole list.

While Arkansas coach Ryan Silverfield is about out of excuses after losing to Missouri, the Gamecocks are playing much better. They’re 5-3 and have won three games in a row.

That streak includes road wins at Florida and Oklahoma, plus a home win over Tennessee.

Earlier this fall, people were asking how long Shane Beamer would keep his job. They’ve quieted down. His team’s ranked again.

Beamer’s in his sixth season with the Gamecocks. He’s 38-33 there and 19-27 in league games. South Carolina’s other wins came against Kent State and Towson.

In Arkansas, Silverfield is the one that has the sharks starting to circle. Whether that means anything or not but considering the Razorbacks haven’t looked good even in their three wins, there’s no surprise.

Neither team can look ahead just yet. South Carolina hosts Texas A&M on Saturday for homecoming.

Arkansas has to go to Auburn the same day. That game kicks off at 11:45 a.m., and SEC Network has it too.

The schools have played 24 times. This will be No. 25. Arkansas leads 14-10 with both coming into the SEC together in 1992 and facing off each year until expansion and schedule adjustments changed things.

They don’t see each other much anymore. After playing every year from 1992 until 2013, There has been just two games since 2017, and the teams split them.

The last one was in 2022. The Razorbacks won 44-30 at Razorback Stadium.

Beating a ranked team would give the Hogs a real lift right now. They’d also like to have a win in hand before the last two weeks of the season.

On Nov. 21, Arkansas heads back to Austin to play No. 1 Texas. The Longhorns lead that series 58-23. They’ve won the last two, including a 52-37 game in Austin last fall.

LSU comes to Fayetteville on Nov. 27 for the Battle for the Golden Boot. Lane Kiffin is in his first year coaching the Tigers.

LSU has beaten the Hogs four times in a row. Last year, the Tigers won by one point, 23-22.

Texas on the road and a streaking LSU team at home isn’t an easy way to finish. That makes South Carolina look like the Hogs’ best shot at a win this month.
