SEC Shorts Arkansas absence comes as Hogs sit out chaos week
he Razorbacks sat out the latest SEC Shorts episode. A bye week and no ranked upset kept them off screen.
If you watched the latest SEC Shorts video waiting for the Razorbacks to show up, you can quit rewinding. They’re not in it.
Arkansas was off last weekend, which makes it tough to land a part in a skit about upsets.
The other reason stings a bit more. The Hogs haven’t knocked off a ranked team in shocking fashion this year, and that’s usually how you earn a spot.
So there’s no cameo. Nobody in a hog hat shows up in the background looking lost, either.
After watching what happened to everybody else, though, a quiet Saturday doesn’t look so bad.
Somebody in this league was going to get embarrassed. At least it wasn’t Arkansas.
The SEC turned into a scary movie this week
The episode plays like a horror film, and the thing hunting everybody down is losing.
A No. 9 team falls first. A No. 14 team goes next, and a top-five team doesn’t make it out either.
Spreads of 16 and 12 points get mentioned along the way, mostly to show how little they mattered.
The line that got me came early: “The loss is coming from inside the conference.”
I laughed out loud at that one.
Under all the jokes, the point is pretty simple. Being ranked doesn’t protect you, and neither does a roster full of five-stars. Any week can turn on you.

Alabama takes the worst of it
The writers had the most fun with Alabama.
They pull out the dynasty-era Tide to explain what’s going wrong. It doesn’t help much. Mostly it reminds everybody they wanted this.
Fans spent 17 years hoping someone would finally knock Bama off the top. Not many folks thought about what would come after.
The dynasty character says it best: “Well, now everybody’s getting a turn now, ain’t it?”
Georgia makes a quick appearance, and the idea of fixing all this with better game planning gets shut down fast.
Then comes the pitch for a 24-team playoff, one so big the regular season stops mattering and losses don’t count.
The final scene belongs to Kentucky. “It’s just me, little old Kentucky,” comes the voice at the door, and somehow that’s the creepiest moment in the whole video.
Where does that leave the Hogs?
Getting left out of SEC Shorts isn’t bad news by itself. Usually a part means you just lost to somebody you shouldn’t have.
Arkansas didn’t do that this week. It didn’t pull off a stunner either.
The video’s message still fits the Razorbacks. Teams that get written off can climb back, and favorites fall in this league all the time.
If Arkansas wants into the next episode, it’ll need to beat a ranked team nobody expects it to beat.
Until then, Hog fans get to sit back and laugh at somebody else for a change.
