Hogs secure commitment from 2026 QB Gilmore; eye additional top recruits

Arkansas has made a significant stride in their 2026 recruiting efforts by securing a commitment from standout quarterback Jayvon Gilmore.

Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 195 pounds, Gilmore hails from Gaffney High School in South Carolina and is known for his strong arm and leadership qualities.

His junior season statistics are impressive, with 2,510 passing yards, 26 touchdowns, and only eight interceptions.

Gilmore’s decision to commit to Arkansas was influenced by the strong relationships he developed with the coaching staff, particularly offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino and assistant quarterbacks coach Miles Fishback.

“Absolutely amazing,” Gilmore said of his relationship with Petrino. “Truly someone I can be around and learn from.” He also praised Fishback, stating, “Totally a great guy and really knows how to connect with his players.”

Gilmore’s commitment adds to an already promising 2026 class for the Razorbacks, which includes four-star safety Tay Lockett and offensive lineman Tucker Young.

The coaching staff is not resting on their laurels, however, as they continue to pursue other top talents. One such prospect is Bryce Gilmore, a 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive lineman from Prosper, Texas.

Ranked as the No. 225 overall prospect and No. 18 among offensive tackles, Bryce has scheduled an official visit to Arkansas starting May 30.

His impressive physical stats include a 4.74-second 40-yard dash and a 325-pound power clean.Another target is wide receiver Chase Campbell from Frenship High School in Wolfforth, Texas.

Campbell had a breakout sophomore season, recording 87 receptions for 1,428 yards and 17 touchdowns. He is ranked as the No. 152 player nationally and the No. 22 wide receiver.

Notably, Campbell has strong ties to Arkansas; his father, Marcus, played football for the Razorbacks, and his mother, DeeDee Brown, was a standout track and field athlete at the university.

The Razorbacks are also eyeing defensive tackle Danny Beale from Cross County. At 6-foot-4 and 315 pounds, Beale is considered one of the top defensive prospects in Arkansas and has been a dominant force on the field throughout his high school career.

With Gilmore’s commitment and the potential addition of other top-tier recruits, Arkansas is positioning itself for a strong 2026 class.

Coach Sam Pittman and his staff are focused on building a team that can compete at the highest levels of college football. The upcoming official visits and continued recruitment efforts will be crucial in shaping the future of the Razorbacks’ program.
