Darius Acuff Jr.: The next chapter in future for Razorback basketball

In the dynamic world of high school basketball, few names have generated as much buzz as Darius Acuff Jr.

Hailing from Detroit, Michigan, and honing his skills at IMG Academy in Florida, Acuff has emerged as a premier point guard in the 2025 class.

Standing at 6-foot-2 and weighing 180 pounds, his blend of athleticism, court vision, and scoring ability has caught the attention of basketball enthusiasts nationwide.

Acuff’s journey began at Cass Technical High School in Detroit, where he led his team to a state championship and earned accolades for his exceptional play.

His sophomore year statistics were impressive, averaging 21.4 points and 5.7 assists per game. Recognizing the need to challenge himself further, Acuff transferred to IMG Academy, where he continued to excel against top-tier competition.

His performances at IMG solidified his reputation, with notable games including a 38-point outing at the City of Palms Classic.

On the international stage, Acuff represented Team USA at the 2024 FIBA U18 AmeriCup, leading the team to a gold medal and earning MVP honors.

His averages of 17.8 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game showcased his ability to perform under pressure and against elite competition.

In November 2024, Acuff made a significant decision by choosing the Razorbacks over other prominent programs.

His commitment marked a pivotal moment for Arkansas, as they secured the top-ranked point guard in the 2025 class. Under the guidance of coach John Calipari, Acuff is poised to make an immediate impact in Fayetteville.

Beyond his on-court achievements, Acuff’s selection to the prestigious Iverson Classic All-American Game further underscores his standing among the nation’s elite high school players.

This honor places him in the company of past participants who have gone on to successful collegiate and professional careers.

As Acuff prepares to embark on his collegiate journey, the anticipation surrounding his debut in a Razorbacks uniform continues to build.

With his combination of skill, leadership, and determination, Darius Acuff Jr. could represent the future of Arkansas basketball and a player to watch in the coming years.
